Community Needs Assessments

We focus on conducting comprehensive community needs assessments throughout the vibrant region of Silicon Valley. We collaborate closely with community organizations, support groups, and programs/services to ensure that our assessments are inclusive, representative, and reflective of the true needs and aspirations of the people we serve. Additionally, we employ a multi-faceted approach, through a combination of interviews, focus groups, and case studies to understand the nuance of these issues.

Participants are encouraged to share their experiences and opinions through one-on-one conversations, and with a safe and supportive environment. Researchers are able to explore complex issues and identify areas of controversy, and foster collaboration and co-creation.

Individuals and communities are involved as data collectors, a unique way to build trust and promote community ownership of the research. CGD enables communities develop their own firsthand cases, ultimately leading to more effective interventions.

By immersing themselves in a particular community, researchers gain a deep understanding of culture and values, while also working closely and engaging in ongoing dialogue and reflection. Both are powerful tools for CBPAR, as they build trust and mutual understanding.
